Author's Guide

Misan Journal of Political and International Studies seeks to attract as many authors and researchers as possible who wish to publish their research in its pages, on its website, and on its electronic platform. Accordingly, the journal's editorial board makes every effort to overcome obstacles facing researchers from various Arab and foreign countries and to provide the best services in a simplified manner, in terms of communication and completing procedures through electronic management. To this end, the following steps have been established:

First – Elements of Scientific Research Writing:

1-Title of the research, author's name with academic title, ORCID number, email address, and phone number.

2-Abstract: This includes a statement of the topic and the main issue or question, along with a statement of the scientific methods and approaches used by the researcher to solve this problem and answer this main question, and finally the results reached by the researcher, all without mentioning the title of any of the above, and not exceeding 100 words in both Arabic and English.

3-Keywords: At least five keywords must be mentioned in the search, so that anyone who wants to search the Internet can access the search through them.

4-The introduction or preface is one page or less, in which the researcher outlines the development of the research, its importance, the issues involved, and the purpose of the research, without mentioning any main title.

5-Definitions Before beginning with the theoretical principles, it is possible to start with the conceptual principles of the topic by explaining the concepts directly related to the title, or those indirectly related but necessary. A brief statement of previous research and some important theories in this regard should also be included. (Do not exceed one page.)

6-Research content: This includes gathering information from various references and organizing it in a logical and scientific manner, with scientific documentation for each piece of information. It then involves analyzing, compiling, and discussing the information, establishing evidence and arguments, weighing them up, and expressing a final opinion.

7-Conclusion: The conclusion includes the researcher's findings from their research, which provide clear results for the problem discussed in their research. It then includes proposals related to the topic, which are clear and directed at the parties concerned in their research, and which serve the problem they researched and the purpose for which the research was written.

8-Footnotes are placed at the end of the research in Chicago style.

9-Sources and references should be listed at the end of the research paper in English only.

10-Research papers should not exceed 20 pages.

11-The font type (Simplified Arabic) is used for research published in Arabic.

Second: Procedures for requesting electronic publication:

The following steps can be followed when requesting publication of research via the journal's website, where all procedures can be completed electronically, through:

1-Research papers should be submitted using the electronic submission system on the website of Misan Journal of Political and International Studies, by registering on the journal's platform and website, creating a username and password specific to the researcher, which must be retained for future access.

2-After completing the registration process, click on “Create Publication Request,” fill out the application form provided for this purpose, fill in all the required fields, and attach an electronic copy of the research in Word format only.

3-Upon receipt of the research paper, the journal will notify the researcher of its receipt within five (5) working days.

4-Manuscripts are subject to Turnitin plagiarism detection before being sent to reviewers. It is preferable that the linguistic review conducted by the authors in Arabic and English be prepared by specialists rather than through translation software or electronic translation platforms. prepared by specialists and not through translation software or electronic translation platforms. 5-The information used in the manuscript should not be taken from random websites, but only from sources based on research published in international or local journals, books, theses, and dissertations, whether printed or electronic, published on reputable websites.

6-The Research Undertaking and Submission Request forms (available in the Author Guide window) must be formally completed before any action is taken by the journal.

7-The researcher will be notified electronically when the research is sent to the reviewers/arbitrators.

8-The period for scientific evaluation of the research shall be no less than four weeks.

9-The author must make the revisions requested by the reviewers within a maximum period of one month.

10-The researcher will be notified of the acceptance or rejection of their research within a period ranging from two weeks to a maximum of one month. Researchers whose research has been accepted for publication will be notified of the publication date and provided with a letter of acceptance.

11-Publication fees in Misan Journal of Political and International Studies for researchers from outside Iraq are US$0 for 20 pages, and US$5 for each additional page. Payment can be made via international transfer or electronic payment (BOS) to the following account number (4768104327) using the K_Al-Rafidain Bank app.

12-Publication fees in Misan Journal of Political and International Studies for researchers from within Iraq are 110,000 Iraqi dinars for 20 pages, and 5,000 dinars for each additional page. Payment shall be made in two installments: the first installment shall be 45,000 Iraqi dinars, non-refundable, and may be paid via internal transfer, in person at the magazine's headquarters, or via electronic payment (BOS) to the following account number (4768104327) using the Keef services application of Rafidain Bank.

13-After the researcher has made the corrections, the research is resubmitted via the journal's platform to the editorial board, and the corrected version of the research is presented to the reviewers again to demonstrate the researcher's commitment to their comments and consideration of their opinions. Acceptance for publication is sent to the researcher via email, and the decision on the issue in which the research will be published remains with the editorial board, taking into account the sequence and priority of research submissions.

14-Research published in the Misan Journal of Political and International Studies will be indexed and uploaded to the Iraqi Academic Journals website.

15-The researcher shall be provided with a certified and stamped copy for the purposes of applying for academic promotion, and shall bear the delivery costs.

16-The journal is not obligated to return research, whether published or unpublished.

17-Failure to comply with the terms and conditions will result in the delay or non-publication of research.

18-All publication procedures must be carried out via the journal's platform. No other methods will be accepted.

Third: Transfer of copyright and publishing rights to Misan Journal for Political and International Studies:

1-Research submitted by researchers to the Misan Journal of Political and International Studies for publication must be original work written by the author(s) and not previously published elsewhere. The study must not currently be under consideration for publication by any other journal. It shall not be submitted for review by any other journal while under review by Misan Journal of Political and International Studies. The research shall not contain any defamatory or illegal statements, nor shall it contain any material that infringes on the personal rights or intellectual property rights of any other person or entity.

2-The researcher must obtain permission from the copyright owners for any excerpts from copyrighted works that are included and cited in his research, if found.

3-If the research was prepared in collaboration with other authors, the researcher must inform the co-author(s) of these terms and conditions of publication and sign on their behalf as their agent, and must be authorized to do so. The researcher must also comply with the policies of Misan Journal of Political and International Studies with regard to all requirements, granting all rights of printing and distribution, both in print and electronically, to the journal or its authorized representative.

4-To this end, researchers sign a pledge to transfer copyright and publication rights to Misan Journal of Political and International Studies, using an electronic form prepared for this purpose and published on the journal's website.

5-The editorial board reserves the right to make any amendments in terms of font type, writing style, and sentence structure, in accordance with the magazine's approved template.

6-The editorial board's decision to accept or reject a submission is final, and it reserves the right not to disclose the reasons for its decision.

Fourth. Publication instructions:

1-Submit research to the editorial board electronically in Word format.

2-Submit an abstract in both Arabic and English, with a maximum of 100 words per abstract, along with keywords for the research to be published.

3-The submitted research should not exceed 20 A4 pages. If it exceeds the specified number of pages, the researcher will be charged 5,000 Iraqi dinars for each additional page.

4-The first page of the research paper should contain the following information (full title of the research paper, full name and academic rank of the researcher, place of work, email address, and ORCID number) in accordance with the standards set out in the publication template available on the journal's website.

5-Write in the introduction to the research (importance of the research, research problem, research hypothesis, methodology, and research structure) without headings.

6-The research is published in accordance with ministerial instructions for peer-reviewed scientific journals.

7-Write the documentation footnotes at the end of the research in Chicago style, ensuring that they are linguistically accurate.

8-The list of references and sources should be included at the end of the research paper and translated into English immediately after the conclusion.

9-Number tables and figures consecutively as they appear in the research.

10-If the researcher requests to withdraw his/her research for any reason, and the editorial board has completed one of the requirements for publishing the research, such as scientific evaluation, linguistic evaluation, plagiarism detection, or both, the board apologizes for not refunding any amounts collected from the researcher as fees for the aforementioned expenses.

Fifth: Technical specifications for printing:

The standards contained in the publication template available on the website of Misan Journal of Political and International Studies shall apply.
