Abstract

This study examines the course of U.S.–Iranian negotiations in 2025 by analyzing the nature of these negotiations and the objectives of the parties involved, with reference to previous rounds of negotiations between the two sides, particularly those related to the Iranian nuclear file, economic sanctions, and bilateral relations between the United States and Iran. The study demonstrates that this course has been characterized by instability and volatility, as negotiations have largely taken an indirect form due to the complexity of the issues under discussion and the interconnection of internal, regional, and international factors influencing the process. Furthermore, the study discusses the implications of these negotiations for the regional environment in the Middle East, particularly their impact on levels of regional tensions, the nature of security and political interactions among the states of the region, and their repercussions for regional security issues and indirect conflicts.
