Abstract

This study sheds light on Russia’s expansion in North Africa as one of the most significant factors contributing to the reshaping of regional and international balances of power. The study examines the multiple motivations behind this expansion, which extend beyond the military dimension to include political, economic, and cultural aspects, as well as the tools and mechanisms employed by Russia to enhance its influence in the region, such as political alliances, military agreements, and strategic economic investments. The study also discusses the determinants and constraints facing Russian policy, including regional and international interactions, in order to provide a comprehensive understanding of the nature of Russian expansion and its various dimensions, while highlighting its impact on the balance of power in North Africa, a region of considerable geopolitical importance.
