The Kurds in Iraq played an important political role after 2003, as they participated in laying the foundations of the new system and worked to achieve their interests in establishing their own region within a federal system ,and they were able to participate in the federal government, but this role did not continue with the same strength, it rather suffered a decline for reasons, some of which were related to the Kurds themselves and the struggle between them for power and influence in the Kurdistan, which weakened them in face of the central authority since they were not able to be a single force with an audible voice, and others related to the struggle between them and the federal authority over resources and land ,etc. The result was that the Kurds were no longer the same political force that began in 2003.
